Salesforce and Google Cloud have joined forces to deliver unprecedented value to businesses in an exciting alliance that is set to reshape the landscape of AI, data, and CRM.
This expanded strategic partnership aims to empower organisations by leveraging the power of data and AI to create highly personalised customer experiences, gain profound insights into customer behaviour, and optimise campaigns across marketing, sales, service, and commerce.
Through two groundbreaking data and AI innovations, businesses can now engage in real-time data sharing and unlock advanced predictive and generative AI capabilities. By harnessing their own data and custom AI models, companies can better anticipate customer needs while eliminating the complexities and costs associated with data synchronisation across platforms. This partnership addresses the pressing need for accessible and actionable data, empowering businesses to make informed decisions and revolutionise their customer experiences.
Join us as we dive deeper into the transformative potential of this partnership, and explore how industries can leverage Salesforce’s Data Cloud and Google’s BigQuery and Vertex AI to create exceptional customer interactions and elevate their CRM strategies.
Lowering the barrier to entry
Many enterprises have a vast amount of data available in their Salesforce instance. While Salesforce already offers a lot of capabilities on its own, exponential value increases can be achieved when that data is combined with other sources. Google BigQuery is the ideal solution for companies to implement their own data warehouse.
Traditionally, ingesting data is one of the biggest barriers to entry when starting a data project. That is why the new integration between Salesforce and BigQuery to dramatically reduce time to value of data projects. It will make it much easier to combine Salesforce data with other sources and then make this data available to other tools like Looker and Vertex AI.
“By combining the Google AI offering and Salesforce Data Cloud we see a hugely powerful solution for businesses striving to drive improved ROI within their existing information and decision making tools and processes. It can give them that vital edge in competitive markets where every small gain can be the difference between successful growth and failure.”

Making ML more accessible
Passing data to and from AI models securely and quickly has always been an important challenge to solve. By leveraging this new native integration, it will dramatically decrease the time it takes to train and deploy ML models.
Having Vertex AI models available directly within Salesforce without having will make it easier for Salesforce users to power up their insights with machine learning. It will also lower operational effort needed for the machine learning team as they have less integrations to manage.
“This strategic partnership has both the techie and the hardened market warrior excited about the true potential of a single pane of glass across the disparate data sources and AI models from Salesforce and Google. Seamlessly combining and making decisions based on all the data about customer, channel, context, social, medical, location, etc. will add a true competitive advantage.”

A small end to end example
Let’s imagine a retailer using Salesforce as their CRM. In this case, Salesforce will contain the purchase history of every user and potential extra information. A data team can then easily take this information and combine it with other sources directly within BigQuery. Examples of other data sources could be: social media interactions with the brand, information about the area where the customer lives, general market trends etc.
This will allow the data team to create a 360 view of a customer containing all relevant information. This data is a golden opportunity for building AI models. The most straightforward example would be a recommender system which would recommend products to customers.
This model is then available directly within Salesforce for use in different applications such as email campaigns, website widgets, mobile app banners, etc. All of this without having to set up complex cross-platform pipelines.
The ML team can take over from here and implement their own recommender system using Vertex AI. This gives them full control over the behaviour of the model and allows them to leverage tools they have experience with. The result of their work is a model in the Vertex AI Model Registry. This model is then available directly within Salesforce for use in different applications such as email campaigns, website widgets, mobile app banners, etc. All of this without having to set up complex cross-platform pipelines.
“By integrating Salesforce Data Cloud with Google BigQuery and Vertex AI, we are empowering businesses to unleash the true potential of their data and AI capabilities. This strategic partnership between Salesforce and Google Cloud opens up new horizons for personalised customer experiences, improved decision-making, and cost-effective campaigns. Together, we are revolutionising the way organisations leverage data and AI, and with the help of our in-house built accelerators, we’re enabling our customers to deliver unparalleled innovation and value to their customers faster than ever before.u0022
