At a glance
To address its business growth needs, Solarpack requires a technology infrastructure strategy that enables accommodating this growth.rn
Devoteam proposes a strategy based on AWS services to build a framework that accommodates Solarpack’s current processes and provides a foundation for deploying its future IT growth needs.
This framework will leverage all the advantages of AWS: flexibility, cost-effectiveness, scalability, and reliability.
The client and their context
Solarpack is a multinational company specialized in the development, construction, marketing, and operation of large-scale photovoltaic solar projects with a presence in rapidly growing markets in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, and Africa. They are currently undergoing a digital transformation process to increase efficiency and operational capacity.
The challenge
- Optimize costs.
- Take advantage of the benefits of AWS: a flexible, scalable, reliable, secure, and highly agile platform
- Improve employee productivity by introducing infrastructure as code
- Integrate AWS resources into Solarpack’s current on-premise infrastructure and create a hybrid environment that allows for a smooth transition to a fully cloud environment
- Migrate processes currently deployed with minimal disruption
- Establish a framework for the intuitive and rapid deployment of infrastructure related to new needs
The Solution
To accommodate the current and future needs of SolarPack, taking into account the current hybrid nature of its infrastructure, Devoteam has deployed a centrally connected AWS multi-account environment with its on-premise infrastructure through a communication hub. This allows SolarPack to access on-premise resources or cloud resources interchangeably. Additionally, Devoteam has provided an infrastructure-as-code framework that effortlessly implements many of the best practices recommended by AWS, increasing the speed of adopting a fully cloud environment for SolarPack.
What did Devoteam do for the client?
- Multi-account architecture design in AWS
- Deployment of a communication hub to create a hybrid environment
- Migration of backup copy processes to AWS storage systems connected to their on-premise infrastructure.
- Creation of a framework based on infrastructure as code.
- Various recommendations aimed at optimizing costs by up to 50% on deployed services.
Technological Approach
The use of infrastructure as code is key to achieving efficient and error-free deployment of homogeneous infrastructure. Each requirement for a new AWS service has been provided in this way, allowing for the incorporation of new best practices with each new iteration of infrastructure deployment. This, in turn, further refines existing services, making each new collaboration between SolarPack and Devoteam an opportunity to enhance its existing infrastructure.
