How Microsoft Viva and Power Platform improved internal communication

These solutions aim to enhance the internal communication and employee experience of Grant Thornton Luxembourg.
Microsoft Viva is an employee experience platform that integrates with Microsoft 365 and Teams. It provides four core modules: Viva Connections, Viva Engage, Viva Insights, Viva Learning. These modules help employees stay connected, informed, engaged and productive.
Power Platform is a low-code development platform that enables users to create custom apps, workflows, chatbots and dashboards. It consists of four components: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Power Virtual Agents. These components help users automate processes, optimize operations, provide insights and deliver value.
Devoteam helped Grant Thornton Luxembourg to leverage these solutions in various ways:
- First Viva Connections and SharePoint Online were used to create a personalized intranet portal that showcases the company’s and business line news, events, values and culture. During a second phase Viva Engage was used to create communities for creating engagement with each other; like creating small adds or sharing seeds from their garden.
- Finally Devoteam created custom apps using Power Apps that allows employees to register on events and submit idea. Those apps are embedded in their SharePoint Online intranet developed by Devoteam. Power Automate was used to streamline workflows and notifications across different systems.
The results of these solutions are impressive; Grant Thornton Luxembourg reported ZERO email sent for internal communication, impressive gain of productivity when redacting and publishing the news, creating more engagement and satisfaction among its employees helping them lower the turnover. They also saw increased efficiency, agility and innovation in the business processes of the communication team. They were able to adapt to the changing needs of their clients and the market; attracting new talents and keeping the existing employees connected and engaged.
