Introducing Mostafa: Leading the way in secure and scalable solutions on Google Cloud Platform
Hi, I’m Mostafa! I’ve been working as a Lead Consultant for one year at Devoteam G Cloud. After finishing my Master’s in Information Technology (IT) at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Germany I worked for a couple of years in the Automotive Industry where I got my first opportunity to work in Cloud. My cloud journey started from there and by harnessing the capabilities and potential of cloud computing I became a cloud enthusiast.
My role consists of designing, implementing, and managing solutions on Google Cloud. I’m responsible for architecting scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based solutions that meet the specific requirements of my clients.
Life as a Cloud Architect: design, security, and optimisation in Action
My typical day varies depending on my current projects. However, here is a general overview of what I do during a typical day:
- Planning and designing cloud solutions, assessing feasibility, and evaluating options.
- Providing technical guidance and collaborating with team members.
- Developing and implementing cloud solutions, writing code, and ensuring best practices.
- Reviewing and refining architectural designs, and documenting guidelines.
- Prioritizing security and compliance, addressing vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
- Optimizing performance and managing costs of cloud solutions.
- Participating in meetings, providing updates, and engaging in knowledge-sharing.
- Staying updated with the latest advancements in cloud technology through training and self-study.
Real-life cloud projects: migrating VMs, deploying Oracle workloads, and enhancing security on Google Cloud
Currently, I’m working on a Datacenter Modernization project where I’m migrating VMs from VMware environment to Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE). As the main application is dependent on Oracle Database, I also deployed Bare Metal Servers on GCP for their Oracle workload.
As my client provides VDI service to their users, I helped my client to deploy Citrix Workload on GCP along with Microsoft Managed AD to authenticate their 1000+ users in different European countries. I also supported them to deploy all GCP security products like Chronicle, Beyond Corp Enterprise (BCE), and Security Command Center (SCC) Premium.
All by myself? Never!
In Devoteam we have Tribes culture where we can collaborate and share our knowledge so that we can benefit from each other.
Unleashing potential and embracing growth: the fulfilling advantages of being a Cloud Architect
My job offers several advantages and benefits that professionals often find appealing. Here are some of the best things about being a Cloud Architect:
- Working with Cutting-Edge Technology
- Solving complex challenges
- Enabling highly scalable and flexible solutions
- Continuous learning and growth
- Impactful and meaningful work

- Future-proof career
Achieving cloud architectural triumphs: design, deploy, delight!
The greatest moments for a Cloud Architect is when a complex solution I designed and implemented on a cloud platform is successfully deployed and meets or exceeds the client’s expectations. Seeing the solution in action and witnessing its positive impact on the business can be immensely gratifying.
