For the fifth year in a row, Devoteam took part in the Now at Work events in London, Frankfurt and Paris as Gold and Platinum sponsor.
You couldn’t be there? Let’s read the key takeaways of our consultants!
Takeaway 1 – New York Release overall
Having just been released in September, ServiceNow’s latest release – New York – was the main focus.
Its scope is impressive – including over 600 innovations. The upgrade process itself is faster than ever, with greater speed for patch upgrades. In addition, ServiceNow has added more workspaces (agent interfaces) for first line service desk agents.
Takeaway 2 – HR at the heart of the strategy
HR and specifically onboarding are a clear focus for the next few months and years.
Automated workflows allow a better control from the new comer. This self service approach is efficient and will save HR time. Nevertheless, pay attention to keep human contact for the newcomers: automation is great but won’t work alone. L’Oreal testimony in Paris was impressive, especially their use of the advanced RH modules.
Takeaway 3 – Mobile App
The main buzz at the events was all around Mobile – and the benefits of bringing ‘consumer grade mobility’ to all three ServiceNow apps. It is not surprising as the next two ServiceNow releases will also focus heavily on mobile.
The brand new Now Mobile App has replaced Now Classic representing a huge leap forward in mobile capability, enabling users to submit incidents and requests, manage tasks, and access company resources from anywhere – perfect for today’s flexible workforce.
The new Mobile Onboarding App for those with the ServiceNow HR module means new starters can be sent and tasks completed straight from their mobiles. The range of tasks that can be done on a device is awesome – anything from taking their employee badge photo, signing electronic documents, confirming the receipt of a new laptop, completing Health and Safety inductions or training. The outcome is a smoother onboarding process and improved management, with a better tracking of tasks issued and completed for the business.
The 3rd addition to the suite is the Project Status App. This allows you to view easily the status reports of your projects through the app including risks information, decisions to make as well as the budget. The app promotes visibility and collaboration across the project team – you can receive notifications when project status changes then add notes or comments as the project progresses.
