According to Satya Nadella, each company will end up being a software company at some point, and trust is therefore a necessity.

Trust is at the heart of the relationship between Microsoft, its partners and their customers; through a better control of information. The number of tech profiles being hired in non-technological fields is growing 11% faster than the hiring process within the tech industry. For example in the automotive industry, the number of software engineers will be three times the number of mechanical engineers this year.
