At the company’s Identity Live event in Paris last November, ForgeRock presented its roadmap for 2019. The Digital Identity specialist mainly invests in a cloud-based platform and especially APIs.
At its last summit, ForgeRock presented the roadmap of its ForgeRock Identity Platform, version 6.5 and beyond. Missed the event? Read on to get the highlights from Devoteam|Paradigmo, a long-time partner of ForgeRock and sponsor of the event.
Even more APIs
ForgeRock has always championed integration, by offering the most complete set of access management integration capabilities. Access Management traditionally targets web-based access control. The importance of APIs is however constantly increasing, in what we commonly call the ‘API economy’. ForgeRock continues to invest in exposing its Identity Platform services through APIs.
FIDO
ForgeRock has been a member of the FIDO Alliance since June 2014. A new feature in the ForgeRock Identity Platform 6.5 is the support for FIDO web authentication, offering user-friendly, frictionless and strong authentication.
And then there was … cloud!
A few of years ago, ForgeRock decided to boost its investments in cloud deployment support. The first results of this strategy are now becoming visible. ForgeRock announced a SaaS platform run by ForgeRock itself, as well as a DevOps version you can deploy on Amazon or Google clouds. ForgeRock provides preconfigured deployment packages that target these two cloud providers – with other cloud providers sure to be covered in the near future.
Devoteam|Paradigmo is currently assessing how to combine the added value of ForgeRock’s DevOps with its own RockKit deployment approach. However, for seamless integration in complex environments, the traditional, full-featured, and on-premise deployment approach is still recommended.
